This site is dedicated to the memory of Thomas Smith.

Thomas George Smith Our son Thomas arrived in this world with such a shock to everyone, including me! With being so small, having a mop of thick black hair and an immense pair of dark brown eyes, he was an absolutely gorgeous baby! As the years went on Thomas or “Tom” as he was known to many of his friends was a football mad, energetic 12 year old, who also adopted the nickname “Ronnie” while on the football pitch due to his footballing talents and Ronaldo type skills. He played for Chasetown Scholars and was ‘first choice right back’ for Kingsmead Technology College. Thomas had a passion for cars, where he could easily name the make and model of every car – spending many evenings on EBAY looking for the ‘best deals’ with his dad! Scootering at Rampz, with his mates, was also another big passion - many a times I was called to watch him attempt ‘an ollie’ or a ‘Tail whip!’ His ambition in life was either to become a professional footballer, for Aston Villa & England (obviously!) or a mechanic. Thomas was a sensitive and caring child but had a wicked sense of humour and would always make people laugh with stories he would to come out with. I have lost count how many times his excuse to the Spanish teacher was “Miss the dog ate my homework!!” Thomas was fluent in Spanish and would frequently get his Dad in trouble when translating ;-) And he would even take pride in telling me that the only part of him that was Welsh… was his little finger nail! Sadly though in May 2013, a few days before his 13th birthday, Thomas was suddenly taken ill having contracted meningitis. He lost his battle on his 13th birthday. His departure has had an enormous impact on us, the family and everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by us all and although there is an emptiness forever etched in our hearts and lives, we could not have been more blessed to have had such a perfect son, ‘Our No.1’. We are so proud of what you achieved and we want everyone to keep happy memories of you in their thoughts forever. Love you No.1 xx Te amamos... siempre y para siempre... Muchos besos xx This trust fund is set up in Thomas` memory and the money raised will help to raise awareness of meningitis, with the aim to limit the devastation it causes to people’s lives.
